"Kawaihoa" represents the special heritage from which this organization was founded.  "Ka wai" - the water, represents Na Kumu Hula, Na Halau, Family and Friends that have shared their knowledge and experiences, like the life-giving waters; "hoa" - companion or friend, or to bind;  represents the bond of these relationships and friendships that are important for our development and growth.
